The mask definitely does resemble gills though. The way that each part seems to fold over the one below it.

I definitely agree the celtic mask was awesome but like you I dislike the bulky look.

I always loved the design of the mas of the first Predator. And it stayed with me for a while since its the same design Predators had in some of my favorite comics like Batman vs Predator and the first AVP comic. Having said that, I never liked any of the other Predator masks at all. Maybe Scar's a little since its a little similar to the original but thats it

I am partial to the predator 1 mask but i do like all the different designs from the other Pred/AVP movies as well!!
