Omegle on Prometheus

I conducted a little experiment asking people on Omegle what they thought of Prometheus. Following are actual responses from people who have seen it:

"Shit movie. It was such a let down. Over-hyped. Boring and predictable."

"I thought it was good for a standalone film. If you compare it to the lore of the Alien series, it won't make sense. The acting is perfect though."

"Major let down. It beats you over the head with its message, ham fistedly tries to incorporate."

"I watched the beginning and then it got too scary."

"I thought it was a pretty good movie, though there were some silly bits and plot holes and whatnot."

"Yes. The special effects were great but the story... it was ok."

This isn't me pretending I'm curing Cancer. Just thought it would be interesting to see random opinions on the movie from people caught off guard with the question.

It's sometimes interesting to see casual film fans views on it. Some people I've talked to were confused if it was the same planet as in Alien or not. Or they wonder why Weyland is in it when he was already in AvP. And then there's the whole Milbourne and the Alien cobra thing, or Fifield getting lost which makes people go wtf. Many little things like that throughout the film that just baffle people. It's a shame, because it feels like you need to be up on all the behind-the-scenes stuff and Alien lore just to get the most out of the movie, and to be also able to forgive its flaws. And then some people are just thrown off by the fact it's really not a "proper" Alien movie. Oh well, what can you do.
