There are other ways to incorporate the Weyland character that don't involve cloning or prequels. A good writer might do wonders...

Yea Weyland had a twin brother.

Lets just get a direct sequel that leads straight onto ALIEN and be done with it.

Yea Weyland had a twin brother.

"Evil" twin brother.
Named Pitter Weyland. Now Pitter and Peter were troublesome youngsters, always running up and down the stairs as fast as they could, making a whale of a noise as they raced to see who would reach the dinner table first. Their mother would yell "Quit the pitter patter Pitter and Peter". Which is the tagline for the new film. "Pitter VS Peter". About how Pitter finds out his brother is dead and gets enraged, invents a time machine, goes back in time, and has a fight to the death with Peter. Which is altogether pointless, as Peter's already dead.

20th Century Fox Presents...
An Epic by Ridley Scott and Damon Lindelof. Produced by Ridley Scott.
Guy Pearce and Zach Galifianakis in:
Pitter VERSUS Peter
'Quit the pitter patter Pitter and Peter'

So on one fateful evening Mother asked which one was better
and Father answered sternly 'there's no doubt love, it is Peter'
But Mother loved her youngest more than Oprah or the tropics
so sent the little upstart off to learn about robotics.

"Evil" and "forever young" twin brother.

It's not obvious at all. They signed him because a scene with a young Weyland was scripted, and by the time they realized they weren't going to use the scene it was too late to get rid of him and replace him.

Well, maybe they film that scene with young Weyland and put it in P2. As a flashback, or a prologue or something.

But what would be the point. Wetland is dead and David is in a completely altered state; a flashback would have nothing to do with the concept of 'meeting god'.

How do you know? Maybe that unfilmed scene had something to do.

Also, we don't know exactly what the sequel's going to be about. Who knows, maybe a young Peter Weyland appears to Elizabeth in a hallucination or something, or... Isn't the purposed title "Paradise"? So, 'paradise' or a 'heaven'... Dead people on it?

Well, since Prometheus is a "prequel" to Alien, making a prequel to a prequel and giving it a "2" at the end of the title kind of messes things up. This prequel-spree we're experiencing these days is worse than the remake-athon.

Maybe we end with an "Alien Zero" for title.

Eh, I still don't think they need to lead directly to Alien, to be honest. Just take the story in its own direction and take it from there; don't worry about the constraints of the Alien films.
