SVT: How was it to play in Prometheus?

Noomi: It was fantastic! Ridley [Scott] is a man who I have enormous respect for. The first time I met him he'd seen 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' three times already, and we started talking for about an hour. And he decided after that meeting that he wanted me to play the lead part in his first sci-fi movie since 'Alien' and 'Blade Runner'. He's very determined but very humble at the same time, so it was fantastic working with him.  It felt like we worked closely together, and in a way without having to use words. Several times he'd come to me and say

'Noomi why don't you...', and I'd reply 'Yeah. I know...' and he'd say 'Ok! Good!', and we'd run through it and there'd be a thumbs-up in the end. So it felt like we ended up on the same track, in a way. I forgot about the world around me. I forgot this was a major Hollywood production and that I was the main character and had to carry this whole movie, and that was his wonderful way of working; he wrapped me in.

SVT: You mentioned 'Alien'... Your part reminds of Sigourney Weaver, are you her successor?

Noomi: I don't know, but there's a thread between the two of them. For devoted 'Alien' fans, even if it's not a direct prequel, there's still a connection between the two movies. My part reminds of Ripley in many ways, but is a bit more feminine and a bit softer.

SVT: How was it to live in that kind of a universe for such a long time?

Noomi: A fantastic thing about being an actress is that you get to climb into a world where everything is possible. Where there are no limits, there there is no stop. And in that universe, all my vanity and my ego and all the things that make life... boring [laughs], you have to let it go. And when it all falls into the right place with the other actors it kind of feels like you're flying. It's undescribable. If I get to live long and be an actress until the day that I die, then that will be the best life that I can imagine.

In another interview on MSN Movies, Rapace tells how demanding her work on Prometheus was:

"I was out there filming for about six months and it was super-intense, my body was in so much pain sometimes but it was absolutely amazing"
