Is it possible that the space jockeys are actually humans from the future?

gotta love when people get riled up over something subjective with no answer yet. it's a "what if". chill out. this doesn't seem so far out considering what has been said in the Ridley interviews. 2001 type stuff about earth's origins and "all life" bio engineering yadda yadda. why not speculate? we're so far out from the release date almost anything is possible.
