the author isn't Stephen King or Michael Crichton,

the book that the movie is based was originally written in the 70s, but was rewritten by the author in the 90s

Funny how you said it wasn't based on a Stephen King novel, and then you say that it was originally written in the 70's and then rewritten in the 90's. Just like The Stand.
