Got a couple of additions to the collection this week.
First I was able to FINALLY pick up one of the 1:6 scale ARTFX AvP Alien Warrior kits. Yeah, I know, they'll be going for half what I paid for it in 6 months, but I couldn't wait. :whis
Now, it's no secret that I'm not a big fan of the AvP Aliens (or the A:R ones for that matter).
I do like the AvP:R warriors though...
ANYWAY...I was really struck by this piece though. It really has to do with the pose and the head sculpt. The pose alone is worth buying this piece. Most kits/toys/statues you can buy are essentially a sculpt of a "guy in a suit". Don't get me wrong, I still like them, but this piece really stands out because of it's dynamic pose. It has a very "alien" feel to it.
And the head/facial sculpt is amazing. VERY creepy looking. If the AvP Aliens had looked like this, I'd have liked the movie alot more. It does have to be assembled and comes in 8 pieces (2 different tails). The base come in 2 pieces.
And I also picked up one of the Facehugger wall plaques that are made by 3DWizart in Singapore. I got mine from a guy here in the U.S., so I saved quite a bit of money on it. I love plaques and couldn't pass it up for the price.
It's a pretty big piece and measures about 21" x 21".
