Like literally every James Cameron film?

The majority of his scriptwriting dialogue is pretty solid. But he does have a habit for cheesy dialogue at times

Titanic is the most guilty out of all his works

I still love the movie, but as a writer myself, I can't help but feel that 60-65% of Jack and Rose's dialogue needed a good polishing

I've just watched Netflix's LIFT. I think it was a comedy but didn't spot any jokes. Vincent D'Onofrio pretty much remained seated in funny costumes for most of it. Predictable plot. I got a bit sleepy near the end.

Poor Things

This finally arrived near me, and it's f**king incredible. Easily the funniest movie of 2023.

Watched Akira again for the first time in probably 20 years. Is it just meant to be a more violent 2001?

Tetsuo evolves into a higher lifeform at the end like Dave does when he goes through the stargate.

I feel like some other things happened in those movies though?

Yes obviously.  That ultimately led up to the main characters evolving into a higher lifeform.

I was just asking a question.  I like Akira - but I've never had an inkling to what it's trying to say (beyond trying to control very destructive things as a nuclear power allegory) until I watched it again the other night.

She's seen all the Star Wars films and TV series (except Andor which she'd find a bit too slow paced).

Wonka
Outstanding film. Was a pleasant surprise this film is. Tim Chamalet is a fantastic lead and just oozes that right about of charm, wit, big eyed wonder and part-psychopath to do the role of Wonka justice. Great songs. A lot of heart and some great laughs too. The supporting cast are great too. Fantastic seeing Bob Fossil (from Mighty Boosh) in this.
