In Aliens when the car/tank runsover and crushes the alien wouldnt the acid burn the tires?

It would, but those are thick wheels, it wouldn't affect the APC in anyway.

It did go though the tires, but it wasn't instantly gone. It took a couple of seconds too get though.
Heck, we were even thould it's was metal on metal.

The APC did end up getting messed up anyway with all the stuff Ripley was driving into, over and through.

With a blown transaxle tyres become a non-issue.

actually you are wrong. when hicks said "Ripley youve blown the transaxle, your just grinding metal, ease down ease down"

he meant the transaxle not the tyres!

No I am right actually.  No transaxle means you can't drive anywhere.  If you can't drive anywhere it doesn't make any difference if the tyres have acid damage or not.

Besides the spinning of the tyres means more damage is likely to be done to the wheel arch.
