Let's just say for example that the next AvP movie takes a whole new direction, completely ignoring AvP and AvP:R. Would you prefer it if the Predators already knew about Aliens existence? Or not? Also, how would you personally approach it if you were the Director?

I think that it would be much better if, during their first encounter with one another, the Predators completely have no clue. For instance, aboard a space vessel, the Predators have gone rampant, skinned some cronies and generally kicked ass. Then, suddenly the tides turn as the mighty hunters see their prey being dropped one by one. All the people in the room are being brutally murdered, dragged into vents and impaled, though the Predators cannot see a thing via Heat vision.

Then much later into the movie, after they have seen their comrades fall by these...invisible ghosts, a lone Wolf discovers a small device that the Humans recovered from the Ship along with the Aliens. His Mask recognises it, locks on and begins "decoding" it. Eventually, his Visor automatically switches, only for the Predator to see an Alien right in it's face (a WTF?! or startelling moment, if you will.) From there, an epic struggle takes place, as his mask begins sending the Vision mode to the Predators still alive...

Whether the Predators know about Aliens or not, just make it so the Predators aren't running the game.  Put them at a disadvantage like the humans were in the Alien films - put them on a ship where they can't shoot the Aliens, or completely deprive them of their advanced weapons and have the writers come up with ways to combat them.

Even in Predator it came down to Arnie outsmarting the Predator rather than beating him into submission.

The PredBen

Well its been so built into AVP culture ( Two films , numerous games & comics and novels ect. ) that Predators have known about Aliens for 1,000s of years that it would be hard to make a movie about their  first encounter.

It would have to be done prior to Alien I think I'd have it like this: A human ship , the first one to be able to leave our solar systems inner area , is travelling out past Neptune. As it gets farther and farther from the last planet it encounters a semi - viisible ship.

The humans send a transmission back but nothing happens. Once inside the discover a sole egg locked inside some sort of laser device.

They go further in and find that there is a mysterious creature dead. One member of the crew , an officer, has been informed of the " Predators " existance and knows that the creature is a hunter.

Soon the egg goes missing and sure enough a new alien joins the ranks of the several aboard the vessel. With only three hunters left alive in the ship.

War Wager

Don't see anything wrong with the Predators knowing of their existance, but I've always hated the idea that the Aliens have to get loose or escape them to be deemed a threat. Having them being used for hunting is pretty degrading in itself.

Legends and stories.

The Aliens should be ultimate prey in the same way that dragons were the ultimate trophy for medieval knights. Sure, coming back with a dragon's tongue got you a nice piece of royal ass, but really? You never really wanted to fight one if you could avoid it.
