No it isn't.
It sometimes can enhance the fertilization, but there have been studied cases of 'cautious' males that fertilized a multiple females avoiding the nice set of jaws of the ladies to get on their head.
That said, a male can fertilize the female, and the latter can eat the former after fertilization. There's no precise rule.

No look at the head design, exposed flesh, and the eyes. They are way too... non-detailed to be from HT
And the dreads don't bend back and curve like that.
That's a custom CG model me thinks.
