Special Effects Facehugger, AVP: ALIEN VS. PREDATOR (2004)

The Facehugger was created by the artists at Amalgamated Dynamics Incorporated for the scenes in AVP: Alien Vs. Predator in which they latched onto the faces of their sedated human hosts. The latex body has metal armatures running through the legs, capped with plastic claws. The Facehugger is presented on a custom-made head display, and has special built in air sacs to allow an off-screen operator to create a breathing effect.

Grid Alien (Tom Woodruff Jr.) Creature Costume, AVP: ALIEN VS. PREDATOR (2004)

Fans of AVP: Alien Vs. Predator will recall the instantly recognisable Grid Alien (named for the grid-like pattern on its head), as the lead Xenomorph who protected the Alien Queen.  In addition to the instantly recognisable monstrous inner jaw, this costume comprises a black latex bodysuit with a domed skull and animatronics built into the creature's lips, jaw and teeth.  The Grid Alien is presented in all its terrifying glory on a custom mannequin, and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the founders of its creator, ADI (Amalgamated Dynamics Incorporated).

Auction Estimates: £20,000 – £30,000

Scar Predator (Ian Whyte) Creature Costume, AVP: ALIEN VS. PREDATOR (2004)

The Scar Predator's costume, from Paul W. S. Anderson's epic AVP: Alien Vs. Predator, is one of the most exciting lots in the forthcoming auction.  ADI (Amalgamated Dynamics Incorporated) created this imposing and elaborate costume that has hand-painted reptilian makings and includes many embellishments and accessories (including steel-finish armour, a faux-leather loincloth, a dagger, spear, shuriken and plasma cater weapon). The scowling face has holes for the performer's eyes and Scar's clan symbol seared into its forehead. This very special creature costume is presented on a custom-made mannequin display, and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from ADI's founders.

Auction Estimates: £40,000 – £60,000

Really cool. Wonder why they're auctioning them off instead of keeping them in some display cabinet in a film museum (or ADI's equivalent of a museum).
