Yes, but in James Cameron movies women can't survive without men, specifically. You never see his lead females being propped up by other women.

It isn't.  But the conversation is about how Hollywood portrays women and how Cameron portrays women, and how perhaps there's a bit of hypocrisy involved.

Regarding Alien's ending, i think it makes sense... A monster with a phallic head pursuing a woman in her underwear is related to some of the thematics of the first movie.

Who needs a beauty pageant swimsuit competition when we've got internet porn now?   Today isn't like when I was a kid and finding a Playboy magazine was a huge deal for the spank bank.
