NECA Aliens

I like, while not always love, a lot of Neca's alien line and even though I'm willing to defend some of their characteristics, I cannot say that they can stand easily. Knees are thin and weak. The newer figures from the last couple of years have had nicer knees, but then the whole calf is either too thin or bent so that it has trouble standing again...

The Fireteam Elite Aliens are so much better it is nearly unbelievable. Joints are really tight, no warping, better paint applications, no mismatched parts, hope they do the rest of them featured at that quality level.

Being significantly smaller and more lightweight also helps with their posing... 

But I would love to see the human variants of appropriate size be made. I'm dissapointed they didn't reveal any new Alien figure at the cons now. We literally have nothing to look forward to from them, nothing from the alien line, no hint.

As I have shown in photos, they are plenty big, even compared to Engineers and Predators, if they do the AFE Drone and Warrior they will be absolutely f**king massive. Doubly so for the Praetorian and the Crusher.

Sold out? I like the sound of that, hopefully that means more Fireteam Elite on the way then.

It occurred to me that if the Predator race encountered the Alien race before humanity did, they would have never fought Drones or Warriors until we came along, just Runners and Prowlers and so forth instead.

So I had some fun taking photos of these really awesome figures.

That's the same Tamashii stand I use for my Resurrection Alien Warrior. Good stands. There is also a really good third party stand on eBay with a flexible arm and multiple head clip options for $17, you just type in "Flexible Dynamic Stand 1/6 or 1/12 in the search engine and it's the hexagon shaped base with the flexible arm. I have never had an alien fall over with one of those and is good quality. The Base is a decent size and not too large, perfect actually for neca aliens. Looks like this:

That display stand is okay, although I found the claws included too big for the xenomorphs waists, only the one with padding fit around them and the lock mechanism is rather fiddly and not very secure.
I found these that works better and is cheaper than necas own display stands, only drawback is the base, wish it was flatter, but oh well. I can promise with them corporal hicks wont have issues with aliens toppling over.

So far none of my xenos have toppled over with necas or storms display stands.

Yes Necas xenomorphs have so far had bad quality, loose joints in like 8/10 figures I purchased. Will see when I get around to buy the fireteam elite ones if that is improved or if I still find a single joint loose, or not.
Design wise and size they seem alright after blues pictures, necas warriors and drones etc seem correct to me compared to their humans. Hoping they will release the preatorians from fireteam elite, that is a insta buy. Fireteam drone and warrior I might skip if its nothing that outclass the old warrior/big chap design, size should be the same, so all depends on the quality of the figure.

Do you stand the Xenos sideways when using the storm collectibles base stand? I had so much trouble trying to use a stand that doesn't have an articulated arm or flexible arm because it would not allow the aliens to stand in natural poses, it would just kind of hug them to the stand pole.

I have them only crouching or standing upright, one jump pose, but none sideways. It is like you say the pole is in the way for some poses and is a bit limited in pose ability and would say this display stand is best with upright standing figures.

I do not think stands should be necessary but I like and recommend the MAFEX one.

Don't get your hopes up too much for the scale of the rest of the figures. The Spitter even though it uses the same body, is certainly a bit bigger than the runner in the game, but Neca didn't upscale the figure. Why do I point this out? Because The warrior in AFE is definitely bigger than the Drone and I doubt Neca will be accurate there with the size difference (even though they really do use the same body). I'm even okay with that if they don't make a size difference cause I do feel AFE overdid it. But I'm worried that they won't upscale the Praetorian which is much bigger, again cause they use the same body as the other human forms.

Though, I shouldn't be rushing, lets first see if they'll even do another series of these figures.

They have sold faster than any other Alien line according to the grape vine, so here's hoping so, I'd love to see them all.

the warrior in game is the size of a normal Neca alien when compared to neca's marines, so I doubt it wouldn't be in scale

Then I highly recommend one of MAFEX's stands, but I will say, in most cases like an Alien as an example if your figure has issues just getting standing that's not a good figure.
