When I first saw Alien (when I was 8 !!), The creature scared the sh*t out of me, I had nightmares for months, That shot were it appeared out of nowhere and got Dallas in the ducts.

The eye sockets totally ruined that image for me, It doesn't seem so un-worldly or scary. Thinking it had some mysterious extrasensory vision made it seem so horrific and unthinkable.

I realise some will get upset me saying this, but I got the idea 'ALIEN' mean't an unknown life form.  From learning it was created by David from Human DNA makes me think the title 'Alien' doesn't quite work very well. Its no longer an Alien to me. Its a weapon.  I think the skull and eyesockets totally spoil the mystique created from the 1st movie..  Just IMO though.

but the skull is not supposed to be seen clearly; that's the genius behind it. It's a tridimensional surrealist piece where this thing kills you, but before it does you see something behind that dome and that is a glimpse of death. They purposedly made the dome misty
