It was posted in PCG as well!!!
http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/11/09/aliens-vs-marines-mod-crysis-2/

His feature list at the end is what really gets to me. No auto-heal, auto-save or wallhack. It's super atmosphere-y and those particle effects from bullet impacts and grenades are absolutely insane.

That video is sexier than Eva Green's Casino Royale cocktail dress.

QuoteUPDATE: AVM is not a MOD anymore. Now I'm using freeSDK and I started texture-replacement process (Doom3 and AvP2010 textures will be replaced with my own textures, which are very close to original textures, This process is very time consuming due to normal maps creating in 3DS and Zbrush. In these days I'm finishing Derelict level and I started to work on AI (facehuggers will be first), rigging and animating. I planned to post new video with a FIGHT on january or february 2013. Please be patient.

@ Predaker who deleted his post - What do you expect from a one man team? To be finished in 1 week? KF started as 1 team modification and its still alive and kicking with huge modding community and more than 250 community made maps. Don't underestimate the one man teams. And for sure this will be released way before ACM if we count the development time. ACM is 6 years late. 10-12 months for playable public version by a single man developing all aspects - modelling, mapping, sound effects and most important the coding is pretty fast and smooth running project.

Replying to a deleted post?  Ok.

That was my point, its only one person so this will take a very long time to finish (if it ever gets finished at all - there is a real possibility it won't) and its certainly no answer to A:CM. The idea that this will somehow be better than A:CM in "every aspect" as you suggested is laughable. I deleted my post because there is no point arguing with you.

BTW, I love mods and the modding community. Some of the most fun games I have played were mods. I didn't post here to trash this mod or people who make mods, but apparently you have an axe to grind with Gearbox.

In which aspect ACM is better than this? (btw the only thing that can stop this mod from being finished are FOX)

With the internet nothing can be stopped.

Look at ALIENS VS PREDATOR 2 saviour mod.

Still up and running to this day.

I had in mind that FOX will make this guy to delete all the content he made so far and it will never see a public release (of any sort).

I don't know, who is to say? There is virtually nothing to compare to. The youtube video of this fan mod doesn't even show combat. Are there playable aliens? Multiplayer? Campaign with co-op? So that's what I meant by it's laughable to even begin saying something like this will be better in "every aspect." No offense. :)

As for this ever being finished, it's only one person. Maybe he will get sick in hospital or die, or just change his mind. It pretty much all depends on the one person who is working on this. I do not question his motivations or determination - the mod looks like he has a lot of heart for the franchise and it looks cool. It probably will be finished, but that all depends on this one person so I recognize the very real possibility that this might not ever see the light of day. C'est la vie!

I've already seen the combat in ACM and I think everything will be better than that. The creator of this mod said he will recreate the AvP 1 combat system which means very fast and agile aliens, not toned down for the consoles. Even this small feature is enough to say that the mod is better than ACM. The MP will come along the line for sure since the code is already implemented in the CryEngine, everything is there so this guy just have to make first person models for the aliens and you have got yourself a working multiplayer.

Btw to say nothing to compare to is funny. We can compare the atmosphere, the sounds, the PR models. ACM is lacking of these so far - the atmosphere is no where scary as in AvP 1, the sounds are wrong and the PR model is still messed up and I doubt this will change until the release.

You're actually quite wrong, there have been a lot of mods stopped by companies, including a very ambitious Star Wars mod. It's quite easy to stop when you've a company looking down at you & threating in suing and making your life miserable. It makes the continuation of a mod quite meaningless.

It is sad but it has happened on countless occasions, if you want examples of canceled mods due to this particular reason then by all means google is your friend. Lets hope he gets to finish it and that Fox doesn't mind, but by the looks of this and seeing how well made it is in such an early stage.. i do fear that it will reach the top sooner than later.

Interesting to see if he decided to grow the team with some trusted members or if this will stay a one-man project.
Anyhow its great news for us AVP99 fans who loved the original.

i've yet to see Fox do that to any big A/P projects though.

So in other words, you are just imagining this will be better than A:CM in every aspect.

Its already better than ACM in every aspect. ACM needs to be redone from scratch to achieve the dark and scary atmosphere shown in the mod. Just look at how dark the mod is and then look at ACM  GBX are just trying to please the CoD kids and this will go bad for them.

Not recently but they've been known to do it to fan projects in the past. The 2 CGI Alien films were Foxed if, I remember rightly.
