The difference is huge. Essential.
Yautja  it's the character from the books. In any movie than you can find this word. Books generally are not canon here, and if are- in the same way as Perry and Shirley. If you want to be safe here - don't abuse the name of the Yautja, and never in departments of film.

Understand me well, I love Yautja. Therefore, I try to explain it for you.

The Predalien impregnating idea contradicts the xenomorph biology.

Xenomorphs who get out of human hosts do not have this feature.
Logically, that means that the Predalien got this impregnating method from its host - the Predator. So does that mean that the Predators also have this impregnating ability? The short answer is : No. So from where does the Predalien get this ability? It makes no sense.

The Predalien is just another Warrior. It's just that instead of brusting out of a human, it burst out of a Predator. Other than that, it remains a simple Drone/Warrior.

Oh, and I do not understand people calling them hybrids. Just like I said before, the Predalien is nothing more than a normal xenomorph, but with a Predator host. It's not a hybrid, because that implies that the ones who got out of human hosts are also hybrids.
I really don't understand why so many think of the Predalien as some special xenomorph. Common sense tells us that it actually isn't.

They are, really. Every alien is a "hybrid," when you get right down to it, because every alien takes some features of its host animal, as first revealed in Alien 3.

I would assume so, but I still think it's stupid for reasons I've already stated. Anyway, that's what Colin claims is the reason for the new reproductive cycle.

It's maybe a bit less stupid than what you were talking about - the whole thing where it came from the Predator's reproductive system - which is what GREG has claimed when he was posting over on IMDB.

So it seems like the directors don't even agree on this.

Well, you know. The fact that she is a queen might explain the shape of the head (mostly).

And if a developing queen has this ability, it makes me wonder why in Resurrection the scientists were waiting for the queen to start laying eggs. I mean the method of the Predalien is far quicker and more effective, since it layed almost fully developed chestbursters than wait for the entire facehugger lifecycle to end.
And with the technology in that century, I doubt that they didn't found that she has this ability.

It was also safer for the scientist, because instead of having to carry all the eggs in the chambers where the future hosts were, they could have just locked them in the same room with the queen and let her to her job.
Not only that, but as seen in AvP-R she could put more than one chestburster inside the host. So instead of having 1 chestburster / egg, the scientists could have managed to create more.

I'm aware that A-R was launched long before AvP-R, but when you are doing something in a series, you mustn't ignore the continuity. And that's what they did.
I'm not nitpicking or anything, just curious.

yeah when i saw it in the theater i was like WTF is going on? and when you watch the movie, you can totally see all the places where the directors were thinking like 10 year olds, "this will be so cool cause it's just like what they did in the first movie"
1. the random hanging body, just cause.
2. the alien under the walkway with the predator above.
3. the predator back tracking with the vision and the targeting triangle to a point where he figured the alien came from
4. him sitting in a tree healing himself.
6.the ship passing earth and spitting out the pod.
7 him shooting at random places in the plant.
8. get to the choppa

at least avp just did bishops pen/knife trick and i think that was it. oh and the drinking bird (but that is more of an easter egg.)

the only thing AVP-r movie has going for it was the sound on the radar (motion tracker sound) and the end with ms yutani.

This thread should be a Stickey thread, i mean it's an important thing about AvP that is the survival or Death of the next AvP movie .

Predalien idea sucks people who thinks its a good idea, u r no AvP fan LOL!
