Yeah, that's what frightened me the most. It looked like you could see something under the dome that looked like eyes.

Its a shame they never went back to Alien having mechanical parts on his body after Aliens! As for eyesockets, well, Aliens had those indents in their places, and no Im not talking about the temporals on the sides

True, but it didn't have the same impact as the eye sockets.

It's hardly a big deal losing something that people wouldn't know about without seeing behind the scenes picture with the dome off.

What I really want to see in a movie, is an Alien shedding its dome, and then running around scaring people with its human skull face.

It works because it's subtle. Take the dome off it and it's another bargain-basement skull-face monster.
