But based on what can be seen in the video clips it sure looks like it is...

To be honest, I like the way it's done way better. Because I don't want to have to crawl up on the side of the vent when there is a hole in the bottom of the vent in order to stay in the vent.

This. And it solves the problem with the wall-walking errors in previous games, when the alien start a break-dance arround the vent, trying to enter but it still crawling arround.

AvP2 had crappy wall walking pretty much. Make the edges of the vents smoother/make the alien movement smoother while wall walking and entering vents and you're there. Not that hard really.

About the G4 hands-on tomorrow, is anyone going to record a feed from their tv and upload it?  Would appreciate it as I will be on the road all tomorrow.

I'd rather just press a button and know with 100% certainty that I'm in the vent. Even the most experienced player would have a hard time jumping from the ground to the inside of a vent up on the ceiling whilst being shot at.

Chances are you'll jump at it and stick to part of the ceiling next to it, quite possibly the very lip of the vent itself, then just before getting over the disorientation you yourself get turned into the new grill cover by the dickhead standing under you with the machine gun.
