also because they aint releasing the hunter addition here in north america for PC, which is a retarded move i might add,i will be forced to get the standard because i ain't gonna import it. Hopefully STEAM will release the survivor edition at least.

Well, that certainly changes the significance of the bonus maps. People who buy the standard edition will only be paying for 2/3rds of the multiplayer game.
I don't have a problem with 12 maps in total though, that's the same number as AvP2 at launch.

I'd be happy with 12 maps too, if that were the actual number of maps. It's 8 maps, and 4 four that you need to either pay extra for now, or later.

It's not 12, it's 8. DLC on day 1, limited editions...and 8 isn't all that great.

A total of 12 ( 8 plus 4 DLC ) is a good number.

Some people would say otherwise.

Those people would be nitpicking.  Twelve is very good number for launch, and should cover each mode fairly well.

Personaly I don't really care too much.  It just makes them easier to memorize.

Well, i rarely play all maps included in a game, since the quality, balancing, theme etc. varies a lot.

As long as those 8 maps are well designed, they will be enough for me. It also depends on the game modes, still not sure if we can play survivor or conquest on every map.

I don't plan to buy the DLC, but might do that anyway, if i get to see the maps first. I think releasing 4 maps at day one (they are included in the hunter edition anyway, so they were always ready to release and didn't require any additional work), which is 50% of the stock maps, is kind of a rip-off. If they would release additional maps in a few months as an DLC/expansion, i wouldn't mind it at all and would actually appreciate that. I don't think that DLC are generally a bad idea.

I would buy them right away if I don't get the Hunter edition. 

They said the DLC will be available later for standard buyers (that doesn't sound like day 1 for everyone), so I would just enjoy the 8 maps until the rest are for sale on PSN Store.
