I think the guy got it all wrong. The marine has a light melee attack. I am pretty darn sure he is referring to that one. And as we know, light attacks can cancel heavy attacks.

From what I played at EuroGamer, the marine had a melee which was basically slamming with the butt of the gun. I did ask the rep and he said there were no finishing style moves for the marine, only that melee.
