This is not about canon, this is about gameplay. Head bites are canon. Long head bite animations ruin the alien gameplay.

It not ruins the gameplay experience, if you know how to use it. The problem is : if you want to use the head-bite everytime even during a figth with 2 or 3 marines, you are gonna died. Use it when you are safe...watch the movies, the aliens use the head-bites agains lonely preys. Burk, Ferro, Parker, Brett etc...

Preds take skulls when they are alone and safe, "only for dramatic purpose"? I will call it, comon sense. Its and action that expose yourself...its normal to perform it when you are in a safe spot.

For me, that's enough to offset the fact that the headbite isn't a viable combat tool this time around.

Not that it needs to be - in AvP2, your claw and tail attacks were so weak that headbiting was an excellent way to get lots of quick kills. In AvP1, your attacks were murderous hurricanes of wrath and killed anything that wasn't a Predator in one hit. Unless you used the tail attack, which downed Predators instantly.

We have been over this. Fast paced game, not much time between fights in MP etc. If you need to head bite to get health you are effed big time. Preds collecting sculls has nothing to do with gameplay as far as we know, because his health doesn't depend on it and he doesn't have to do it AT ALL if he doesn't want to, in the game.

I think that maps will be huge, and there will be time between fights in MP. There is no time in deathmatch, in team deathmatch there will be. I hope.

Im sooo happy, u can throw the spear, Thats one thing I really wanted in the game and I got it. ^_^
Also, What was the thing the predator threw? The disc? It looked a little weird..

Well, in the MP vids you can spot an alien killing a pred in 2 seconds, with 2 claw hits. We have to wait until the alien official gameplay, to check this out. But this game has more to do with the first AvP PC than AVP2.

The alien killed burk in an intense slow action, when the door opened the xeno was there waiting for him, and Burk didnt notice it. The classic slow head bite moment.

why is everyone making such a big deal about it being cannon or not? Not all aliens are the same..
