I could be mistaken on this, but thought the cocooning thing was also briefly mentioned in one of the video demonstrations.

Either way, it wouldn't be a new mechanic!

If it will use the entire alien cycle without cut-scenes, it will be a new gameplay mechanic. As i have said, egg-morphing + alien life cycle its totally new.
yeah but how lol?

no... it's just put two old things together...

No, you have never played the alien cycle without scripts in single player.

But you have in multiplayer.

You HAVE played as a facehugger.

You HAVE cocooned people.

It is not a new MECHANIC. It's combining two things we've already done.

then it is a new mechanic cuz we know things are going to be changed differently for that matter.

No. Being able to walk on walls was a new gameplay mechanic in AvPG. It hadn't been done.

When games started implementing a recharging health system instead of health packs. That was a new gameplay mechanic.

When games started implementing cover systems... that was a new gameplay mechanic.

Cocooning and Lifecycle have BOTH happened before. It's a cool mechanic, but it isn't NEW.

Two 'olds' don't make a 'new', just as much as two 'wrongs' don't make a 'right.'
