Out of 10. 10 being highest. Saw iMax version 2D. Last night May 18th.
I am a huge Alien (1979) fan. This review is opinion based (as all are) but biased towards wanting the movie to be good.
What I actually Received:
Cinematography: 8.5/10 (Scott does his normal wonderful job of sharp crisp set designs and landscapes)
Plot: 6/10 (Lacking, somewhat predictable, few surprises for Alien fans)
Canon: 8/10 (Some upsetting revelations and some welcome ones, although falls short in some canon areas and falls hard)
Acting: 6/10 (High end actors did GREAT! other performed somewhat stiff and not enough character development to care)
Ship and vehicle designs: 7.5/10 (New stuff, old stuff, inventive and detailed!)
Xeno Designs: 8/10 (Homage, and some very small disappointments)
Overall Score (Not an average): 7.2 / 10
