I think he is!

Possibly for AVP3 OR a Predator-3.

Just wanted to get some folks opinion on this, as I am a fan of Mark "Conan" Steven's work, and he is a 7ft tall action actor who does bodybuild, without looking too muscular to play a Predator.

He is .25" (quarter inch) over 7 feet tall, and Currently weighs a 315 pounds, he has been as big as 330 pounds and he is very ripped. Oddly enough, he is not a "Meathead" as he is a MENSA member with an IQ OVER 140.

Nothing against Ian, but I think Stevens is even better for the Predator role.

------ Qualified Infantry Soldier UN Coy, Australian Army - position - Gunner (M-60) (Firing, operating and care of light arms inc pistols, rifles, assault rifles, machine guns, grenade launcher, mortar, hand grenades, rocket launcher and claymore mines)

Sword and hand weapons fighting with the Society for Creative Anachronisms full contact fighting with recreated medieval arms and armour

12 years freestyle fighting experience Various basic martial arts training - Olympic wrestling, Muay Thai (kick boxing), Okinawan Goju Ryu ------

I will post a few links to various stuff on his site, they take a second to load as he lives in Thailand, and you may have to scroll down to see the images.

I think he would be the PERFECT choice to play a Predator, as he is VERY athletic, he is big and muscular, but he does not look overly muscle-bound when he moves at all. More of a Fit athletic looks than a competitive bodybuilder, while still very muscular and strong looking. Sort of a 7ft Vin Diesel type of build. At 7ft that is the ideal build for a Predator anyway.

There would be no need to put on a muscle suit, just paint on the Predator makeup, put the Pred Armor on, and the mask+ helmet and there you go, a Predator ALSO athletic enough to do Mui Thai AND skilled with hand weapons.

There would be no problems of him having constricted movements by a rubber suit at all, and even under the armour he is strong enough to move fluidly.

The bottom is a link to a youtube video of him practicing with some martial arts actor for a film shoot in Thailand where he lives.

Those are the worst moves i've ever seen, and I am a student of MMA who have went to adult 170-180 weight class kickboxing tournaments before.

:-\ You can see that they are just going through a film rehearsal. Not a real fight. Movie fighting has to be different than actual fighting. For example you have to telegraph a move in an unrealistic way to let the audience know what you are about to do. He has actually trained with Larry Papadopolous in the past.

He had a whole article about stage vs. real fighting on his site in fact:

Look at his Ressume, he used to be a long distance runner, and he still runs in sand for his cardio. I imagine he would have more stamina than say a guy who has to wear 100 pounds of rubber. 8)

Conan Stevens would not have to even wear the rubber suit, and that alone would make him far more agile.

Too muscular. A Pred suit would look like a blimp on him.

Then just dont put the suit on. That is the whole Idea. Just paint the suit on, add the gloves and feet, shin guards etc..., the body armor, and he IS the Pred, WITHOUT the muscle suit all together.

There could also be a suit that is made of a much thinner material, almost like latex that the scale and hair details could be added to, but again this would be far less bulky than anything Ian has to wear right now.

SiL

Personally I don't think a painted Predator would work. Wouldn't look right.

Rebecca Alie Romijn looked fine as Mystique, in X-Men, the costume had details other than just coloring on it, simmilar to how the Pred skin could be made on a more body fitting outfit, done away with 50-100 pounds of rubber under 50-100 pounds of armor.

SiL

I know how Mystique was done :P

It worked for her, but the Predator isn't an odd-coloured human. For one, the head would be way too big, especially with the mask on. They could probably do it really thin, but you'e still got the mandibles which add considerably. He's look like a bobble head.

I don't thingk so, Steven's head looks tiny on his body right now, and even without one shred of suit padding his body would still look far thicker than KPH's body looked in suit.

Jungle Hunter

still though he seems for the role but its just the fact he would have to be wearing steel and what not and he has to be good at acting like a predator so he is fit for the role

temporary1

Found this photo of him in the unfinished Man-Thing suit:-

And he has photos doing some medieval fighting here too:

http://www.conanstevens.com/component/option,com_gallery2/Itemid,32/?g2_itemId=1664

Maybe he would be good for the role

Jungle Hunter

he sure is pretty f**king big ill give him that one but what about the guy the played the predator from the ones and the producers might have some one else in mind but his size does fit the part  no doubt about it

Meathead320

He is not too big to play the Predator either. Not like some of the 5'9" 300+ pound bodybuilders are.

Conan Stevens has the build I would expect a Predator to have.

Jungle Hunter

yea he does he is tall enough but there are bigger people going to play the part of predator but is conan even going for the part cause i would vote for him if there was a voting thing for the predator part
