What is exactly the Xenomorphs Homeworld, as in described by Steve Perrys trilogy?

It's not described. The homeworld changes every six stories, basically.

"Oh but wait, this is where they came from!"

Aha, okay, that seems weird. Now I see why people regard the books as non-canon.

Don't I remember them trying to edit "homeworld (THE alien homeplanet)" to hiveworld (an alien planet overrun with........aliens)?

I also think Perry confused the issue by assuming the queen's homeplanet was the same as the one Newt and Hicks visited in the outbreak series.

Think so.  The planet in the first comic series was referred to as 'The Homeworld'.  They shot themselves in the foot when they blew it up and the series became popular.  I believe it was later referred as a 'hiveworld'.
