Are we really trying to claim Battlefield has 'historical accuracy' when you can jump out a plane, headshot another pilot, hijack their plane, and fly away safely?

It's is about the setting and timeline, you're talking about the action and gameplay.
There's a difference.

This is so asinine.

It's literally a movie about Nazis making undead super soldiers. Who gives a f**k if it has some black dudes in it at that point?

Doesnt bother me, just pointed it out. Didn't like the movie in general, not because of that.

Aside from that: the Hitler-on-dino movie doesn't take itself too serious. While Overlord kinda does and could have been a lot crazier and over the top.

Sounds like classic r/enlightenedcentrism

People like that probably didn't give a shit that all the Avengers were white men up until the last few years but got upset that Captain Marvel had No Doubt's "I'm just a Girl" in the soundtrack when she's beating up male villains.

-For Marvel's upcoming Blade movie there gonna focus on hiring more black people just because.

And that's a problem because? I mean, you can see a movie were the filmakers hired almost white actors just because, and that's fine right ?

I guess, in modern world having your movie cast consist mostly/entirely of black people considered to be some sort of a statement

And how is that bad? is it bad that minorities are represented in entertainment?

This is not like someone is complaining about Superman being black and gay. There is too much hatred towards progressivism in entertainment in these days.

There are literally studies about how nerd culture or rather nerd outrage is a pipeline to alt-right mentalities.

It is SO bizarre that franchises like Star Trek, Star Wars, Alien(s), etc have themes that are fairly if not extremely progressive yet have TONS of fans that disagree with said themes.

To be fair, I'm not sure which side of the argument makes me want to puke more: people who are racist/sexist/homophobic or people who think of themselves as clever accusing others of racism/sexism/homophobia

I mean.... it should absolutely be the racist/sexist/homophobic people. It's shouldnt really even be a debate.

Ladies and Gents, please continue this conversation in the following thread so fans who just want to discuss the show need not be exposed to it:

Appreciate it!  :)

Nightmare Asylum

Until those fans are "exposed to it" regardless by the show itself, as "it" already seems to be one of the core components of what we're going to be getting here. ;)

Voodoo Magic

Just when it stops being about the Alien TV Series NA, just take it to the other thread please. Thanks.

The Blob

If there were to be a single fanbase that had to take the crown for the worst fanbase there is, more than half would vote for Alien. Every fandom is familiar to fan art. Sonic the Hedgehog and My Little Pony are often highly criticised for this, but Alien is where people draw the line.

[cancerblack]

I... what?

I draw crappy Alien art all the time and nobody has ever said anything negative.

That's ... an interesting take, to say the least. Maybe he thinks that all Alien related fan-art is horribly perverted creepy Rule 34 pornography-like crap ? Idk

I think it's the other way around, someone didn't like his perverted r34.

With only 2 to 3 more years to actual release, this seem like fun times for a moderator  ;D
And there's also Skulls.

The Blob

This is a good time to discuss just what toxic fandom is. I'm looking at fans who take it too far. The Alien fanbase has a huge amount of incredibly passionate angry manchildren. They produce cringe. Cringey OCs, cringey art, cringey videos.

The Alien fanbase embodies a lot of what makes a terrible fanbase.

- They can be incredibly whiney, never knowing what they want, and always complaining over something dumb.

- It's just a broken fanbase, with opinions literally everywhere and no one can agree where the franchise should go and instead they get at each others throats.

- They make really stupid crap sometimes, stuff that rivals the things you see in the My Little Pony fandom. And not stupid in an intentional and funny way.

- Simply put, a ton of Alien fans can be...overbearing to say the least

Corporal Hicks

Go on then, I'll bite. A huge amount of passionate angry manchildren put out cringey art and videos? As someone who likes to try and see as much as the fanbase as he can, I can't say I've seen a huge amount of people doing that. Please feel free to throw them up.

Not going to deny there's no rule 34 stuff for Alien. Of course there is. It's the nature of the rule. But it's not particularly prevalent unless you're going looking for it.

Nothing specific to Alien there. That happens in every fandom. Unfortunately.

I guess the simple solution is - don't interact with online fandom.
