Now that we see it from the front it looks like it has a face shield, which makes sense. It also looks like an upside down COBRA logo.

Nice, do you have a bigger version? That's original concept art.
The tail is due to the original idea for the new reproduction cycle; the Predalien had to sting a creature to turn it into a sack off which more Predaliens would come out.

That's the only one I could find the doesn't have concept art written on it. It's on the special features for AVPR designing the hybrid.
