Which would be fine. The main concern is that a human mutation leads to the predatory variety of creature hunting the rest of the crew. Having someone agonisingly mutate into something, as a symptom, is OK. Just so long as a 'pure' strain of something else is walking/slithering around.

I was referring more to the shape of the skull. The eyes are placed differently and the front of the skull is flattened in a way the other wasn't.

Farscape'-like. I think it's the only franchise which has ever come close to regularly reproducing alien species which are as exotic as you'd expect to come from something like the derelict.
