Immortan Jonesy

How about a reboot where Ripley is a male space trucker and Hicks a female colonial marine?

I actually love the idea of the next movie having a male in the leading role. It would be refreshing to see. Perhaps an outright switch, with having a female marine, would feel a bit forced though.

They could make it work with the right story I suppose. But having the story based around blue collar workers in space (love the idea of a space trucker) would be great and just have a male in the leading role.

100% agree. I would love to switch it up and see a last man main protagonist standing in Alien, and a last woman main protagonist standing in Predator. And oh how do I wish it was Ronda.

I always loved Parker in Alien. I like to think of how things could have gone if he lived. He's gonna need a bigger bonus.  :D He does have an honorable death though, trying to save Lambert, which makes you like him even more.

Not sure of Ronda's acting chops but she has the look! I could see her as a marine in some type of AVP story.

We've been speculating for years on how the inquest scene in Aliens would have gone down if it was Parker instead of Ripley.

Yeah I'm a big Parker fan myself and do wish he had survived only to see him in another film!

Regarding being unsure of her acting chops, well that concern was reasonably applicable to Arnold and Jesse too, but with the right director, she can shine I think. But on screen presence and Predator beating believability? She's got that in spades. Heard she was good in 2018's Mile 22 with Mark Wahlberg too.

As much as I love Ripley, it's an awesome concept for an alternate universe story.

Very good point! A good director can bring a lot to the table and bring out the best in actors.

Based on her acting in Mortal Kombat 11, I'd prefer she doesn't or at least receive training to do so. Sure it's fine for action but when you sit down and listen to her try to emote she just can't do it.

Ripley because quarantine and rules.

Despite relating to Ripley's personality the most, I would probably pull a Lambert and freeze the hell up if I had an 8 foot alien standing before me... just a speculation.  :P

as long as it doesn't have SJW bs agenda I'm good, and hopefully a solid cast

Yeah, I really hope they don't try to turn Ripley into a woman or promote socialism, turning the company into the real villain.

There isn't an director alive that can bring out talent in Rousey.

She has the ability to glower. That's it. Gina Carano has the same problem.

As for SJW agenda, Ripley is already a woman, so I don't see how that works. Displaying the evils of crony capitalism (or more broadly, a too powerful, overreaching authority) is hardly promoting socialism in that series either.

The problem with many modern films is they spend too much time telling, rather than showing. That's where the agenda gets annoying for many. Ripley showed her growth, leadership, and strength, and did so in an organic way.
