How do you make your own avatar instead of choosing one from the gallery. I tried to post a Bill Cosby one  an it said it does not accept GIF's 'What does that mean'. So I tried to post another one and it said it was too large. I see most people's avatars and they look really awesome. How do I make my own avatar and post it on my profile.

Save picture, go to paint and resize it to 100x100 pixels of size. Then upload it with sites such as tinypic or photobucket, and paste the URL only in the avatar field of the modify profile menù.
