So, what parts of the story would you like to see in the next game?

I would maybe want to see the war starting on Harvest, so it could be a prequel to Halo Wars. A harvest game could make a fun FPS. Maybe a Halo 4, because we all know it will inevitably happen. I would love to see the series expand into more genres, like how Wars was an RTS. What genres of Halo games would you like to see?

Survival-Horror. Just an average marines take on events on Halo, fighting Covanent and Flood.

Finally finished the campaign on Heroic. Just mopping up to get some easy achievements, then I'm gonna go for Legendary.

Legendary is so much more annoying.
Its no longer a strafe and spam its a spam and grenades seemingly lock on to you.

I kinda like that idea, actually.

Same. maybe you could play as the marine that 343 chose before MC.

But he died in a hallway. Killed by the Flood. That wouldn't exactly be the greatest ending.

Maybe there was more to his death than we know. Plus, maybe the game can take place mostly outside on Halo, then it ends with you entering that area. And his death can be hinted at, but not so in you face.
