In the trailer the Spartan you replace in the game is seen blowing up a carrier. It just helps flesh out what happens before you get into the game. It also explains Kat's arm.

Zomgz spoilers, Kat has a robotic arm.

edit: Just so people know, the Deliver Hope trailer with dialogue is fan made...

Oh yeah, I read The Cole Protocol and loved it! Contact Harvest was better, but The Cole Protocol is just behind in terms of my enjoyment. Oh, and I'm almost done with First Strike too.

They also released the cutscene the song is from.. I don't mind watching cutscenes if Bungie has allowed them to be released; they know what to show and what not to show. Kat has a pretty damn badass moment in it. 

Here it is- obviously, don't watch it if you don't want a thing spoiled. It's incredibly epic and the media source this is from said it was only one of a few amazingly epic cutscenes in the game, that top recent Halo games.
