I was really surprised. The second one seemed to he heading the same way as the first (ie. too short) but then took a right turn

I was half expecting the little robot eyeball due to turn bad at some point
and then all that Aperture Science Innvators stuff. Took me ages to progress last night, but that endlessly huge underground chamber was just so good to look at I didn't care (and the announcements from Cave Johnston were hilarious - 'Do not be alarmed if your blood has turned to gasoline. We've been bombarding your body with lasers that turn blood to gasoline').
The world they created coupled with the black humour, the voicework, the sheer satisfaction of working out how to get out of a chamber - yeah, you could be right that it's the best game of the last few years.
