Soldier the first play through, Vanguard all the others.
12b was only ever an MOS of convenience for me. I reclassed into that MOS after my guard unit shut down, and it was in between my hometown and my university.
My FA unit was 2hrs and 45 minutes from my house, and about 2 hrs 15 minutes from UK.
It had it's cool moments, you get to do more soldierly stuff as a 12b than a FA guy (unless your FO) but it also has one of the highest casualty rates of any MOS because you are the fellas running ahead of everybody through minefields to put a Bangalore underneath a wired obstacle while the enemies focus all their firepower on you so you don't create a breach for your infantry.
Out of every MOS 12b "died" the most in NTC and JRTC. If I could do it over I wouldve probably reclassed infantry, just because they have some semblance of fate directly attached to their hands, while we rely on them (or armor units) for fire support while we breach.
I actually went through basic/ait/deployment as a redleg and despite spending the same amount of years in both units, I always identify as field artillery.

I'm already bored shitless on weekends though, so i'm already thinking of getting back in.
I've missed exactly ONE drill.
