So, who's Evil Empire now, huh ?

It's us, but probably not for long with this pandemic. Please create a better world than we did.

You're allowed to move out anytime. Plenty of room in Venezuela.

The irony is seeing fans of the Alien franchise (of all things) tirelessly defend the ideological tenets that prioritize and subsidize the welfare of villainous megacorporations over human beings.

God bless the Citizens United!

Always had this aura of contentment around him though. Like an employee in an Apple Store...

The panic buying seems to have stopped (Woolies now has TP, mince, and rice in abundance -- pasta's still out though), the shopping malls are empty. It's bizarre and uncomfortable, but it's great.

Yer we have avoided the big two and been going to our local market for goods (they do online orders and you pickup from a side door). Also having to shop for my elderly (high risk) parents now too. We will try Woolies or Coles this weekend as we need a few necessities soon.

It's not so bad out here either, but TP is still up there with four-leaf clovers.

Pretty much everything else is available though.

It's okay to stop Far-right people from continuing to misinform the mainstream.

As long as you stop Far-left people from continuing to misinform the mainstream as well.

The problematic coin is two-sided and all needs to desperately stop.

No doubt about it.

Quote from: Huggs on Mar 29, 2020, 07:06:59 PMEverybody cries about the prices until they walk into a hospital and realize just how many high paying jobs are being performed, floor by floor by floor. It's a business like anything else. Medical personnel aren't going to go into massive debt and endure years of college plus a lifetime of continuing education all for minimum wage.

So sure, let the government take it over and make things more "reasonable". All that'll lead to is a surge in Art History majors.

But only in America, right?  It works in other countries, but it can't work in the US for reasons, right?

Yeah I'm pretty sure doctor is a high paying job in literally any developed nation. And yes LT we saw those "reasons" on the next page.

What's a few hundred thousand people dying for the sake of marginal GDP growth, really? Seems like a great deal.

In England alone, 17,000 people die of the flu every year. Now imagine what would happen if the nhs didn't have the proper funding because the economy was crashed.
What's the point in a well-funded NHS if your pandemic policy is "f**k it, let them die"?

I think you can fight a pandemic without crashing the economy and becoming a police state. Your Healthcare services need money to function, let's not make things worse.
