I hated the Lakers of that era and thought they were arrogant pricks.  I even rooted for the Jason Kidd Nets to beat them in the finals (lol) and one of my happiest sports moments is when my Pistons demolished them in five games in 2004. 

But then you remember they are human beings with family and loved ones, and the saddest part of all of it is finding out the deaths of the young ones in the crash.
