And Obama still refuses to stop flights from West Africa to the US...probably because he has an African family background  ::)
The man's a fool, basically America is now in a situation where many people are under close watch and nobody really knows if the virus has gotten out. They are playing the waiting game because bottom line...America has f**ked up, and Obama could have stopped it easily from day one.

When you write ignorant stuff like that, you can't blame people around here for making a mockery out of your comments. Just saying...

Ignorant how? are you saying America isn't in this situation? you don't think Obama's background might have an influence on his decisions here? Is that ignorance, really? is this a PC slap on the wrist or merely a head in the sand moment? Didn't expect that from you Eva.

America isn't in 'this situation' - Western Africa is.

As for Obama - he had no authority over how a hospital board in Texas decided to handle a potential Ebola patient. That's their call according to US health regulations. And next it becomes a state level case. And after that, a federal level case where the President can make policies for the individual states to follow.

The Texas case is what happens when local authorities don't follow the guidelines already outlined to you by the best specialists in the field. That's hardly Obama's fault. Right now, he's taking the advice from the experts - people who have dealt with scenarios like this their entire career. And their consensus is clear: if you want to effectively beat Ebola (and prohibit it spreading to other continents), pool your efforts and resources where the outbreak is active, not in US airports or whatever. I'll trust the experts.

At this current time the US is watching many many people closely waiting to see if they break out in ebola. Whoever did what and where makes no difference, Obama had the chance to stop flights going into the US from the affected area, he didn't and still refuses to DESPITE calls from many people for him to do so. Seriously I don't get it, how hard is it? contain the outbreak by stopping flights...what's the problem here?

Obama admin fudge up...

Obama wants to infect as many white people as he can. Bring the infected to the United States.

So, he's, like, assuming Africa's all one place?

But it is innit?

hehe

lol! exactly, I knew some of you would say this, that is why I wrote it exactly as I did, too easy. It doesn't matter which side of the continent his family is from, he has an African family background and that probably influences his decisions somewhat. Bottom line, he should of stopped travel from day one and everyone knows it. He didn't and look where you are now.

My family mainly comes from the British Isles and Ireland. Naturally, that means I'm biased towards the Ukrainians, as they, too, come from Europe!

"Cпасибо!"

QuoteAh the guys living on that large safe idyllic island on the other side of the globe, where nothing much ever happens and nothing ever seems to affect them yet they preach at everybody else as if they actually know what they're talking about  Yeah OK Oz, hit me up when you actually have some kind of crisis over...errr anything.

Only if you promise to do the same.

There's no crisis in the UK either, Ebola or otherwise.  And no amount of being an incessantly whiny little bitch will manufacture one.

Those 'many people' calling out for Obama to stop flights from Western Africa altogether, aren't the people educated and experienced with virus outbreaks. Besides... what flights would you stop exactly? An infected person might come from South Africa... from Spain... or from Asia, because a lot of air passengers don't always travel directly to their destinations. It would be false security.

In a way, it's our luck that Ebola is so aggressive. It's extremely inefficient in spreading in ares with a certain standard/level of health care institutions. There are plenty of real life examples to back up the notion that these hyper-aggressive viruses (Ebola, Hansa, Marberg etc.) haven't been able to catch a foothold in 1st world nations a single time, even when infected people have been known to carry them undetected for days/weeks and potentially infect people they have been with, including spouses, family relatives, sexual partners etc. in that period. But they are so hard to get that no such outbreaks have ever happened in our part of the world.

So, if you're gonna flip out, flip out over the African victims that are dying from this right now, instead of flipping out over a scenario that won't happen.

Some 60 Republicans in the House of Representatives have informally said they would support a travel ban, according to an unofficial count on the Hill website.

They were joined by a handful of Democrat representatives and a small number of Republicans in the Senate.

Republican House Speaker John Boehner, who supports travel restrictions, has hinted that he may propose a vote on the issue.

You stop flights from the source, West Africa. Yes it could come from somewhere else but at the moment the odds on that are lower...I would hope! The fact you're saying it could from other places straight away shows how important a flight ban from West Africa is or was!! It should of been done from day one. The fact this didn't happen is why the problem has now reached these other places...or the threat is there.

You just contradicted your own argument :/

Republicans really aren't the kind of people you even want to listen to though.

Well in this case I would listen to them because whoever you're listening to now has fudged up royal.

Pretty sure all those Texans who f**ked up and let a man with ebola go home with antibiotics -- even after learning he had just been to Liberia -- would vote for Republicans, too. ◦°˚\(*❛‿❛)/˚°◦
