In 1st semester someone actually presented to us proposed plans for the hunting down of feral cats.
Feral cats kill more birds than any other animal and it's actually threatening entire species of birds.
Plan 1. Capture, fix, release.
Plan 2. Capture, put down.
While I am definitely behind the defence of the birds I'm not exactly for these methods of doing so, pet cats could end up in the mix and it'd be especially bad if they met the fate of plan 2. Like Eva said people have emotional bonds to their pets.
The lady presenting it really came across as a cat hater too, as if they were equivalent to sewer rats.
