The problem is: There's a big history on that place of the cops being known racists. A few where caught on camera calling protesters "animals"; police station phone operators called protesters "f**king monkeys".. etc. etc.

I remember reading that this was the only violent death in that place for a good while... and a white cop did it on an unarmed black kid.

It really doesnt look good. And there's gonna be a lot of justified distrust of the local police report.

Darren Wilson, the Ferguson cop who shot and killed Michael Brown, did not know Brown was a suspect in a shoplifting case at the time, police chief Thomas Jackson said at a press conference today. Apparently a column of Russian armoured personal carriers moved across the border into Ukraine overnight, but apparently most of the column was destroyed by Ukrainian artillery. The Russians deny that anything happened while NATO secretary-general also says a Russian column crossed the border.

Meanwhile, the Russians attempted to send a huge aid covey from Moscow to eastern Ukraine to distribute supplies such as food, water and generators to civilians who have been affected by the conflict. But Ukraine warned that any incursion would be treated as an attack and so the convey was halted in Russia, Ukraine and some in the West fear they could be attempting to smuggle in things like weapons for the rebels. But after tense negotiations the Russians have consented to allowing Ukrainian officials inspect the aid convoy, and if it's okay than the Red Cross takes over from there to distribute aid in eastern Ukraine.

The demand for shark fin soup is leading to the collapse of shark populations. According to latest data, the fins from up to 100 million sharks are traded worldwide each year. The Hong Kong government estimates that 3,100 metric tons of shark fin were imported into Hong Kong in 2012. This trade is directly leading to the near extinction of many shark species on our planet.

From Ecuador to Brunei, from the Bahamas to the Maldives, many nations from around the world have enacted laws that ban the sale and possession of shark fin within their borders.

Recently, more than fifty Hong Kong and global marine conservation groups joined forces to call on the Hong Kong Government to enact a similar
ban on shark fin at official banquets -- and the Government did nothing.

Last year, leading companies like Cathay Pacific Airways, Shangri-La Hotels and many others banned shark fin from their operations. Also, a peer-reviewed survey by Bloom Association found that a large part of the Hong Kong population have said no to shark fin, as they recognise that the environmental cost is just too high.

So the message is clear: The time has come for the Hong Kong Government pass a law to ban shark fin and related products from the territory.

Meanwhile in Liberia, a quarantine unit was assaulted by armed men and a few victims were released... because the superstition there is that Ebola is just a hoax.. or something caused by witches. ..and the evil guberment is "imprisioning people against their will".
