Right now my sights are on a new Xbox 360...

If I eventually get a next generation console I'll probably get a PS4 (my first playstation ever mind you) depending on how many gaming buddies get it, as I'm a multiplayer fella.

It'd mean leaving behind cool things like Halo, but it's not like I'm being given much choice. Personally I think that to get Xbox One solely for Halo would be a dumb move. I'm hoping Destiny will either be on Xbox 360 or PS4.

As far as I know Destiny is planned as multiplatform title. MS are no longer restricting Bungie to release their games on other platforms so..

Yes this is the funniest stuff - all big sharks are advertising their NEXT GEN engines but their technical statistics (and even the release of some of the "next gen" games) can be handles by the current gen consoles    They are doing this for all the people who don't know shit about the systems, their specs etc. Its like BMW you know - they are advertising it as the ultimate driving machine - its good then. They are advertising the new engines are NEXT GEN - sure they are 

The industry these days... I really really want to see EA and the other funny guys advertising the same stuff the same way back in the 90s where the industry was run by nerds and not kids, adult "gamers" girl "gamers" and co. Those would be some good times

So this is the X-Box One? The name is almost as disappointing as the look of this thing, my old VCR looks better.  Plus no backwards compatible mode and you gotta pay extra for used games... such an anti-climax!

Calling it XBOX ONE isn't good business sense... like seriously? we all know its XBOX 3 lol but they don't want to sound weak compared to PS4

but then again they call it XBOX ONE? they should of just called it XBOX 720

X-BOX ONE makes sense as a name, in my opinion. A 360 is a circle, or a '0'. The natural successor to '0' is '1'.

I can, Microsoft seem to be appealing to tech nuts, gimmick lovers and anyone that just does not play games, no wonder they're all loving it.
The fact it can play games was thrown in like an afterthought, why they even bothered inviting a bunch of game journalists out there is beyond me.
