Was everyone really expecting it to be like the Dark Horse comic "Aliens: Apocalypse - The Destroying Angels".

Wish's cannot always come true.

Never read it. Is it good?
I'm not really in love with every comic born from Alien / Predator.

That is not their only purpose.
Spoiler
They show you that the black goo makes lifeforms mutates.

What is weird is that the black goo the sacrifice engineer uses disintagrate him...

So what was the real mission of the Juggernaut with Earth?
Mutate everybody, give birth to more squids, hence more Xenos?
So we were cattle?

btw You're welcome panicroommate ;)

Spoiler

Just like the SJ at the beginning shows it or like David even shows it by contaminating holloway with the black liquid.
They re-harsh the same themes and questions during the entire movie.
For me the Worms thing was just a way to get rid of a few characters.
[close]
Spoiler

I'm sorry but the Engineer at the beggining don't mutates.
He disintagrate himself. Not the same thing at all.
Same thing happens to the Engineer's head.
This clearly a different thing.

The wormalien attack is there to show us the danger of this place.
The Holloway infection is there to show Weyland motives, persona.
And of course create intimate drama that put the heroine in the middle of it all.
This is not done the best way possible but thats works.
The real problems are more deep.
Characterization sucks, stuff leads to nowhere, stuff are forgotten then reintroduced when needed.
It's lazy easy writing but there was a good film there.

I love it.
Almost like At the Mountains of Madness, Alien styled. One of the best comics in the Alien EU.

Spoiler

The THEME is: You need to destroy life if you want to create some.
The SJ kill himself to give birth to life.
Nothing tell us that the worms are still alive and they are probably very much dead. The black goo just find a way to then interact with the DNA of the worms or whatever ideas you wanna invent. I'm not here to discuss this but nothing states clearly: Mutation.
The SJ head is kinda a total different topic. I don't want to theorize on it, it just looks stupid IN MY OPINION.

It for sure shows the danger. Just like chet show how he's the danger in AVP-R.
But since this affect characters I don't really gives a shit because they said like 6 - 7 lines and had a 2 mins screentime and were mostly moron it simply made me react like "oh! finally".
ALIEN made me feel the danger much before the Facehugger scene.
And what was Weyland motive persona then if it's not to acquire immortality (and how could that help?)
For me it didn't work, this was lazy, cliché, and as every slasher happens in a total random way that trigger a chain of unthinkable events that serves no real purpose apart getting a rid of some characters.
My opinion, you won't change it.  :D

For me Admitting Prometheus is a good film would make me admit that both AVP are too.
And I can't.

What I want to know is what the business with the worms is anyway? The explanations make no sense. The crew brought them with them--what?

Nobody is trying to make you change your opinion.
If you're not even interested to discuss things (like the fact that the head and sacrifice Engineer clearly disintagrates but that worms, Fifield, Holloway mutates) then i don't see the point of repeating ad nauseum your griefs against the movie.

I have no interest in just dissing the movie.
I want to discuss what i think is relevant in the movie.
Because like i said it's flawed but there is something there.
You don't and i'm ok with that.

But if you just wanna say :
"THIS IS SHIT THIS IS SHIT THIS IS SHIT I'M NOT HEARING WHAT YOU SAYYYYYYY".
Fine by me but please just create you own thread or stick to the fan review thread.
I did not made this one to just vent or piss on the movie.
THAT is boring.

Thanks :) :)

Yeah, I have to wonder if people were really paying attention, or if the film is honestly that confused.

Yeah... That basically means a few but very passionate number of people like something. A cult following is a small following. That wouldn't exactly change the way it's regarded by the mainstream.  :)

Seems clear to me.
The ampule room was sealed 2000 years ago when the outbreak happened.
There is no worms or anything alive inside, the engineer head was kept intact because of that.
Then the human enter, theres a shot on some boots, you see worms.
Then they realize that the air they brought in is destroying the murals and making the urns leak.
Again clear to me they brought the worms with them.

That's just dumb. Really dumb.

And Bethesda, if you don't want spoilers, stay out of the thread marked SPOILERS in all caps in the title. ::) :P
