I'm all for alien squids, given i'm now without an upcoming 'Mountains of Madness' adaptation to look forward to, the more Cthulhu-esque the better.

Besides the creature design isn't indicative of the films ultimate quality. Afterall, the xenomorphs in Aliens Vs. Predator: Requiem looked great and that film was complete shite.

Also....readying Prometheus for comparisons is also setting up the film to fail. Period. Prometheus should work on its own, and in a perfect world, there should be no blatant comparisons. That's like after having a son, and while pregnant with the second comparing the fetus to first child based off how it kicks in utero and then, to make matters worse, thinking "he won't be like the first one, I'm already disappointed."

It's ludicrous.

Hey i liked 'em, they were your bog standard Alien aliens. This is of course not counting the Predalien thing.

Although it strikes me that with a tiny change to the soundtrack during this sequence, we could end up with a very, very different film.
