 I am new to computers, and have minimal knowlege on how things work. I would like to be able to create the cool "banners" people use as "signatures" for their profiles. Is there certain software, or downloads used to create them? How would I go about doing so?

Well, elite predator takes a time out from this site and i dont do sig´s anymore.

You need to buy Photoshop, which cost  about 600-800 $, then you can just work on your pictures and then render them out of the programm and put them on here... simple as that

I am off the job at the moment and have been for a few months now, I have no time... Too much work... Too much school... Not enough sleep.

Photoshop Elements is cheap... Doesn't do as much as the CS series.
Elements is 99$ and that is what I use, good for newbies too.
Just a suggestion.
