I hope he still has a lot of creative control on this one and hopefully the visuals are just as good. At least Del Toro has helped write the script.

So why exactly is GdT not directing? Did he just not want to?

Hopefully because he's busy on something else.

I read that the script GDT turned in is not going to be used and that DeKnight is using the one written by Spaihts.  ???

Del Toro is almost always busy with many parallel projects. He said a while ago he was doing a low budget horror film called "Silva", and he was also in talks for directing a remake of "Fantastic Voyage". That's most likely the case.

With any luck, it'll be At The Mountains of Madness.

I know originally it was Toro and Penn working on the script. Then it sounded like this new script by Spaihts had Toro co-write it or at least helped a bit.

Three people that need to be back. Charlie Hunnam, Rinko Kikuchi, and Ron Perlman.

This, Boyega is not a guy you wanna watch for a long time,
besides that he is very ugly and not manly, there is nothing on him like charm or charisma.
Idris Elba has it, Denzel has it but casting Boyega can really ruin a movie.

you guys should see him in attack the block, he plays a completely different character there and he is way more charismatic than charlie hunnan.
