I'd already thought about and tried it. Couldn't find any free software that would let me record a Skype conversation.

JamesCameronOnline does a podcast, in conjunction with Cameronblog.blogspot. It's done through Skype and recorded, then edited into a show with music etc. I'm sure AVPGalaxy can do the same with the bare minimum, as JCO does.
