TBH I find all the metalgate bullshit mega embarrassing. Just a bunch of nerds getting upset over literally nothing. And its not even as if there's nothing that needs fixing in the culture, because I mean every comment section on metalsucks, metal injection, mainstream band's fb statuses, etc is always just a shithouse of homophobic labelling and (cant believe im saying this) MUH SOGGY KNEE. And sure every subculture has its bad apples but with metal it just seems so amplified...
I'm usually not one to get up in arms about this sort of thing but I mean gotta call it out when i see it. If someone sees legions of pantera/metallica/slayer/whatever fans talking about a band that they probably wouldnt enjoy like... i dont know say black veil brides/a day to remember/bring me the horizon/whatever and everyone is just calling them gay or fagboys purely because they dont like the music, how is that not f**ked up??? I usually just lol @ them for not understanding that the easiest way to look like a deep closet case is by being a homophobe. haha.
