Cover art and release date for the next TWD Volume!

http://www.amazon.com/Walking-Dead-14-Way-Out/dp/1607063921

I thought it would be out before July, but I guess they want to make money on the individual books, first. Can't wait!

Hmm, by the time this is out, the next arc will already be about half way done. Is that how they always release the TPBs?

EDIT: Hmm, thins site says June:

Godzilla Kingdom of Monster #1

Fitzgerald's review and detailed summary

Well first off let me say that Eric Powell did a fantastic job with this cover. I chose cover B (shown above) which pulls out to form a poster style cover. This issue serves as basically what can only be described as am origin story for Godzilla. The first page features a simple scene of two kids playing on a beach when The Big G makes his entrance. They chose a rather amusing entrance for our monster king as he bursts from the very ground, ala Godzilla vs. Mothra but much more bad ass. They throw "everything our airforce had" at him and solve nothing. They then do what most of us would do as well if there was an indestructible mother f**king monster in the ocean heading towards Tokyo. They nuke him; but this isn't the end of the Big G and in fact this causes him to develop his iconic atomic breath. On the last page US President Obama makes an appearance, setting it up for US involvement in future issues.

The art is pretty good, not the best I've seen when speaking of Humans and there are some random inconsistencies at the begining. When speaking of the planes, submarines, and of course the Big G himself I can say that they did a great job. Goji looks menacing and the design is not a carbon copy of any of the movies and looks good. Backgrounds are satisfying and summing it up I'd say that compared to other comics the art is great.

In conclusion this comic serves as a pretty good set up and the art is above average.

Fitz's rating 9/10

I plan to pick up my copy soon as well. I do think it was awesome that Obama is part of the story.

They also make reference to everything going on in the US when he says
"The war....
The economy.....
The oil spill......
Now this.....
You have got to be @%$#ing kidding me."

You know, there's plenty of other comics you could read in the meantime.

Yeah, I know. Just not much of a comic book reader. I appreciate them, but it just doesn't really impact me much.

I am considering getting the new Godzilla comic, though, just to try it out.

I just read some of the first issues of Invincible and I loved it. It's written by Kirkman, who did The Walking Dead. A pretty interesting story so far, with likeable main characters and some nice artwork. I'll definitely continue reading this for a while.

I loved Invincible for the first 40 issues or so. After a point, though, it seemed to become more about the gore and "how can we shock our readers this month" than about the characters I'd come to like quite a bit. Almost gave up on it after
