Whats the deal with sad Christmas songs?  All is bright and cheerful on the radio until this Christmas Shoes song comes on and sombers the mood this morning. Note to self...change the station when that song comes on before my daughter starts asking who's mom died on Christmas again.  Stupid song.

I wonder that myself. But a lot of people get real down around the holidays and they must relate and feel some sort of catharsis in listening. I'd listen to those songs if they had more of an 'edge' to them.

Understandable, but it's still a drag.  Then you have, "mom, why did that boy's mom die on Christmas?  What did she die from?"  When Jingle Bells and Joy to the World make for a much better commute to school in the mornings.
