That doesn't mean I don't appreciate the effort and the results for a fan edit.

It's cool, but I know what you mean. It's the edition of the circular panning shots, they look a little jarring in comparison to the mostly stationary cuts of the original. It's basically a symptom of mixing old camara work with new digital shots.

Basically like they put Bullet time in Predator.

Everything about it seems off.

Except maybe that little bit with the ROTS voice over towards the end.

Yeah, the lack of any attempt to make it seem like part of the rest of the film is the most glaring issue and pervades every creative choice they made.

It's certainly better than the usual "two Jedi in the forest" fan film, but there are people who think this should inserted into the movie.

I thought I saw some shaky cam too.  I didn't notice any Dutch Angles though.

It would be like putting Matrix esque acrobatics and bullet time into a classic Western

As a camera and effects test it was good, which is what they say it was. So credit where it's due.

Although hopefully they appreciate first-hand how modern cameras and lenses really do not match up with 70s 35mm film and anamorphic lenses

This is the kind of thing I wanted you to articulate.  Was it my imagination or was there a lighting mismatch too?

Light, colour, and lenses are all completely different. They've gone for a much darker, moodier image than what's in the original.

It looks like they modified the blaster bolts in the original footage as well.
